About
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and a certified sex therapist (CST). I hold a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Michigan University. I completed my pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Emory University Counseling and Psychological Services.
I have experience working with a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. I have expertise working with young adults and young professionals who are navigating the numerous academic, career, identity, and relational changes associated with this time period.
Additionally, as a certified sex therapist, I have specialized training in sexuality, sexual health, and intimacy related concerns. I work from an integrative, holistic perspective that views sexuality as an important part of one's identity and considers sexual health to be a fundamental component of one's overall health and wellness. I use an affirmative and sex-positive approach in therapy. I value the rich diversity of sexual and gender experience and expression.
My Approach
I view therapy as a collaborative process in which we work together to define goals and tailor treatment to meet your specific needs. My practice is grounded in evidence-based principles, and I incorporate a variety of interpersonal, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral skills and tools. I take a two-fold approach that focuses on developing greater insight and understanding, while also utilizing practical strategies to help you work toward the changes that you would like to implement.
